Next time you visit Red Stick Social, take a moment to look up! You’ll notice fascinating remnants from the building’s storied past. As you explore our multi-floor space, you might spot original mechanics from the building’s previous life as part of the Entergy Company, such as the impressive 20-ton gantry crane that still hangs proudly overhead.
Our building’s rich history dates back over 100 years. Originally the Baton Rouge Electric Company power plant, the century-old structure has undergone a remarkable transformation. When Red Stick Social opened its doors in 2020, it breathed new life into this historic gem, blending the old with the new to create a vibrant community space.
The careful repurposing of this building has been a labor of love. Many of the original features have been preserved, including the iconic overhead crane and vintage lights, which were repurposed into the new light fixtures, capturing the essence of the building’s industrial roots.
Today, Red Stick Social offers a mix of entertainment, dining, and events under one roof. With 10 bowling lanes, a livestage with AV-hookup, multi-floor bars, outdoor patio space, a rooftop terrace, a full-service kitchen serving elevated bar food, and more, the building has become a hub for socializing, events, and making memories.
We take great pride in preserving the history of this remarkable building while adapting it for modern use. The Electric Depot and Red Stick Social now stand as a unique blend of Baton Rouge’s past and present. And the best part? We’re thrilled to share it with you!
Next time you’re here for a private event or some weekend fun, take a moment to appreciate the history that surrounds you—it’s part of what makes Red Stick Social such a special place!
